porcelain vessels, greenware to glaze

i have been very busy lately with these vessels which i am loving creating. what i really enjoy is that each one is covered in tiny, barely visible lines that are actually finger prints. they are beautifully tactile and invite a caress as they nestle into a hand... they are semi-translucent in the right light and each has its own soul...

below are images of their journey from greenware, sitting en masse in the kiln, all polished up, to being glazed in blue, duck egg hues, white and celadon

they are vessels waiting to be filled yet full of life already x

the ichimu website is now live and is having a mini physical outing at the harvest textiles market tomorrow
sunday 18 december at 512 lygon street east brunswick, melbourne
10 – 5pm
